CHRISTMAS WORSHIP SERVICE
This Sabbath we're going to have a special twist on the Christmas story as Robin Riches and several of our young people share with us about the birth of Christ--something so familiar that you may just see it in a whole new way. I hope you'll come join us this Sabbath as we worship our Savior. This will be a great service to bring your friends and family who are visiting for the holiday.
PRAYER MEETING WILL RESUME JAN. 8
Prayer meeting will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 8, with a new series on friendship evangelism. We're going to do a four-part series based on some new friendship evangelism materials that my friend, Ed Keyes, shared with me at the recent West Point of Evangelism seminar. Some of our upcoming series that we are looking at for next year include: heroes in the history of Christianity, families and family life, and the life & teachings of Jesus. Do you have a series you would like to see during prayer meeting next year? Let me know as we make plans for the spiritual life of our church in the New Year.
AGAPE FEAST & COMMUNION
We're going to participate in the live broadcast of Elder Schneider's worship service on Friday evening, Dec. 28, at 5:00 p.m. For more information please see the North American Division's web site: http://www.nadadventist.org/article.php?id=258 We'll start an hour before the actual program starts for a light supper and for the footwashing so that we are ready when it begins at 6:00 p.m.
PASTOR'S BLOG FOR DECEMBER 20
I can't believe it is almost Christmas. This past week we've been able to have lots of holiday fun. A special thank you to our church family for coming out this past Sunday evening for the Christmas party at our home. We had a lot of fun. The kids had a particularly great time trying to build a gingerbread house (and snacking on it later). I'm trying to downsize the pictures that I took so that I can post them on the pastor's blog.
Monday was a special day because Heidi and I got to go up to Arrowhead to visit George & Myrna Hill and Vernon & Cathy Maestas. George Hill graciously loaned us snowmobiles so we learned how to snowmobile for the first time. We've had a lot of "firsts" over the past week. On Sabbath afternoon on the way back from Gunnison we both got to try snowshoeing for the first time as well (it's pretty obvious that we're new to Colorado when you are excited about snowshoeing, right?!!).
Another "first" is I've contacted the coordinator for chaplains at our Montrose Hospital, and I will be attending their next chaplain's meeting on Jan. 3. This will allow me to be on the "call" list as a chaplain where I'll get on the rotation schedule at the hospital. In addition, I'm always on call for any church members who might have a medical emergency. I always am glad to stop by to pray with you.
Merry Christmas,
Pastor Michael Campbell
