WORSHIP WITH BILL HAY & SUNDAY BRUNCH
This Sabbath Rocky Mountain Conference stewardship director, Bill Hay, will be speaking to us about "Opening Heaven's Windows." I am looking forward to learning more about how God has blessed me and our church family. Sabbath morning I'll be doing a brief "State of the Church" to review the generosity of our church family over the past year. Plus, we have a very special opportunity: on Sunday morning at 9:30 we're going to have a brunch followed by a seminar on wills and trusts. I hope you'll come and join me as we focus on stewardship this weekend (the Super Bowl isn't until 4 pm so you shouldn't have any trouble getting to see it!).

GAME NIGHT
Saturday night we are having games and fun at the church. The action starts at 6:30 p.m. so you won't want to miss out!

PRAYER MEETING
We will conclude our prayer meeting series entitled "Just Walk Across the Room" next week. I've been blessed as we have gone through the series. God journeyed across the universe to save us, and all we have to do is walk across the room. We've been learning about how to share our testimony, and in this last session we're going to cover "Grander Vision Living." It's not too late to benefit from learning how to introduce yoru friends to Jesus through this series. Incidentally, our next prayer meeting series will begin on Feb. 12. The theme is healthy marriages and families.

PASTOR'S BLOG FOR JANUARY 31
We didn't end up going down to Durango on Sunday for the pastor's meetings on Monday. The weather looked ominous, and I have a healthy respect for Red Mountain pass. On Sunday evening I got a call from our coordinator down there who left a voice mail message. He said, in essence, I hope you aren't coming down--if you do you're crazy--anyways we've decided to cancel the meeting.

I can't believe that it has been just about a year since Heidi went into labor. Wow! What a wonderful year it has been, and I am astounded at how much she has changed during her first year. Now she is walking around, trying to communicate, and this week she thought it would be fun to start feeding Mom & Dad some of her food (instead of the other way around!). It was really cute.

During our last church board meeting we made a very strategic decision for our church family--we voted to hire a Bible worker for the summer. Please pray as we seek the right person here for Montrose. I'm also excited because I think this will help to build on the upcoming cooking school (February/March) and stop-smoking (April) seminars our church is going to hold. I'm also glad that Jackie Adragna is working on putting together a health fair for our church.
